Despite the corona crisis, the professionals of Chelsea FC will continue to be paid in full. The Blues staff should not suffer from the situation either.
Despite the corona crisis, Chelsea FC will not currently ask its professionals for a partial pay cut.
This was announced by the Premier League club Chelsea FC in a statement concerning the current situation of players, employees, sponsors and fans.
In recent reports, there had been speculation about a ten per cent salary cut. The London club is looking for other ways in which players can contribute to the league break.
“At this time, the first team of the men will not make any financial contribution to the club. Instead, the board has instructed the team to concentrate its efforts on continuing to support other charitable causes,” the declaration says.
The talks with the players would continue. The club will continue to pay all its employees in full until at least 30 June, instead of taking advantage of the government’s programme, which covers 80 per cent of their wages.
