How did the men do at Roland Garros?

Diego Schwartzman from Argentina won against the German Jan-Lennard Struff with 6-7 (9-11), 4-6, 5-7.

The world’s number one Novak Djokovic from Serbia defeated the 19-year-old Italian Lorenzo Musetti. Musetti, for whom it was his first major, fought hard. Novak made several easy errors in the first two sets and lost the first two sets. After that, however, Musetti’s performance changed, and Novak’s experience became visible. Whenever it was a deciding point, the world’s number one shifted up a gear and played out his expertise against the increasingly worn-out underdog Musetti. Djokovic won the third and fourth sets 6:1, 6:0 before the Italian gave up after 3:27 hours at 4:0 for Djokovic in the fifth set. In the end, Novak won with 6:7 (7:9), 6:7 (2:7), 6:1, 6:0, 4:0.

The next opponent for Novak is going to be Matteo Berrettini, who entered the quarter-finals without a fight after Roger Federer withdrew.

Rafael Nadal from Spain made it to the quarter-finals in just 2:17 hours after winning against Jannik Sinner from Italy. Nadal, the world’s number 2, won with 7:5, 6:3, 6:0.
