Is a deal between Tottenham Hotspur and the Internet giant Amazon imminent? According to reports, both parties are negotiating the rights to the stadium name.
Will Tottenham Hotspur succeed in a mega-deal on name sponsorship?
According to information from Sportsmail, coach Jose Mourinho’s team is in close negotiations with Amazon about a possible partnership for the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Although the talks are still a long way from a potential agreement, this is mainly due to the uncertainty caused by the coronavirus.
A ten-year contract for 25 million pounds per season is under discussion. It would be the most lucrative sponsorship deal for a stadium name in history.
There is already a close connection between Tottenham and Amazon after the Internet giant joined the club for the soon to be released documentary “All or Nothing”.
In addition to Amazon, the sporting goods manufacturer Nike is also said to be interested in sponsoring. For potential investors, the deal with the current eighth of the Premier League is also so attractive because the stadium will host NFL games as well as other sporting events and concerts in addition to the games of the team around striker Harry Kane.
Currently, however, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium fulfils an entirely different function. Corona tests are carried out in the stadium’s parking garage.
