Sofia Kenin, the 21-year-old US-American and Australian Open winner defeated her compatriot Danielle Collins, also from the US, with 6-4, 4-6, 6-0 in the quarter-finals. Kennin will face Petra Kvitova from the Czech Republic. Kvitova won over the German Laura Siegemund with 6-3, 6-3.
The other female sem-finals match will be played by Nadia Podoroska from Argentina and Iga Swiatek from Poland.
Looking at the men tennis, there is the following news. Stefanos Tsitsipas from Greece defeated Russian Andrey Rublev in the quarter-finals with 7-5, 6-2, 6-3. It will be the first time for Tsitsipas at the French Open semi-finals. The world number one Novak Djokovic has reached the semi-finals despite injury problems. One could see a large patch on Novak’s neck, and he seemed to have issues with his left arm which he kept shaking repeatedly. Djokovic defeated Pablo Carreño Busta from Spain with 4:6, 6:2, 6:3, 6:4.
